Hibiscus Tea Benefits: A Monthly Pairing with Cosmic Chapters | Wander Cuppa

We are so excited to announce a brand new collaboration with Lisa from Cosmic Chapters! Every month, we will be sharing the perfect book and tea combination to help you settle into the season. There is nothing quite like a good read paired with a delicious brew.

Hibiscus tea and seasonal reading

Lisa has written a beautiful piece to kick things off for May and Beltane, which you can read below:

Happy Beltane! 💐
Since it’s May 1st, I thought I would announce to you all that Wander Cuppa and I are going to be presenting you all with a monthly book + tea combination with our current favourites that gives you the perfect tea blends with the perfect book for the season (because tea is for anytime of the year, especially reading time!)
Since its Beltane today, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to present you with this most gorgeous hardback book i have been dipping in and out off for the last few years called “The Wheel of The Year” by @fionnualacook & @jessicasroux
This is an illustrated guide and roadmap showing and teaching you how to best work with nature’s rhythms and cycles; covering topics such as solstices, equinoxes, harvest festivals and so much more!
The book is incredibly interactive as well as educational; offering crafts, rituals, games, recipes and nature scavenger hunts to encourage you to see, hear and feel whats around you in the wild.
My @wandercuppa tea for today absolutely had to be “Forest Adventure” made with hibiscus flowers, currant and elderberry - perfectly sweet, floral and equally as comforting, caffeine free, and easy to prepare for sitting back and flipping through some of the most gorgeous illustrations to get you ready and prepared for summer. Hibiscus tea is a fruity herbal tea made from dried hibiscus flowers, known for its bright colour, refreshing taste and antioxidant properties. Often enjoyed as part of a wellness routine, hibiscus tea is also valued for its potential benefits for blood pressure, liver health and weight loss, though more research is needed to confirm its effects. It is enjoyed worldwide as a simple herbal tea that can be made with boiling water and is a refreshing alternative to caffeinated drinks. 🌞❤️ P.S. If anyone is into wildlife tarot, @jessicasroux “Woodland Wardens” is the best…

Some studies have also explored hibiscus tea for its potential effects on lowering blood pressure, supporting liver health, and influencing body weight, body mass index and body fat, but evidence remains limited and more research is needed. Hibiscus sabdariffa is the variety most commonly used in tea, and its natural plant compounds are often studied for antioxidant properties that may help protect the body from oxidative stress and free radicals in the body.
